POPIA Privacy Notice

1. Purpose of This Notice

This notice is issued in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA") and sets out how personal information is processed by Axario, operated by Praxis Marketing Consultancy, trading as Axario.

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

  • Technical and usage data (IP address, device, logs)

4. Purpose of Processing

Personal information is processed to:

  • Provide and operate the Axario platform
  • Enable account creation and authentication
  • Store and manage operational and compliance records on behalf of organisations
  • Facilitate collaboration between users and contractors
  • Generate operational reports and insights
  • Maintain platform security and integrity
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

5. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal information under one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • Performance of a contract with the user or their organisation
  • Consent provided by the data subject
  • Compliance with a legal obligation
  • Legitimate interests of the responsible party or a third party, balanced against the rights of data subjects

6. Sharing and Operators

Personal information may be shared with third-party operators acting on our instructions, including cloud hosting and database providers (for example, the underlying SaaS infrastructure used by the platform).

Operators are contractually required to apply appropriate security and confidentiality measures.


7. Cross-Border Transfers

Personal information may be processed and stored on servers located outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure the receiving jurisdiction or operator provides an adequate level of protection consistent with POPIA.


8. Retention

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this notice, or as required by law. When no longer required, it is deleted, anonymised or securely destroyed.


9. Security Safeguards

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information, including access controls, authentication, encrypted storage where applicable, and audit logging.


10. Rights of Data Subjects

Under POPIA, data subjects have the right to:

  • Be notified that personal information is being collected or has been accessed
  • Request access to their personal information
  • Request correction or deletion of personal information
  • Object to processing in certain circumstances
  • Withdraw consent previously given
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

11. Direct Marketing

We will not use personal information for direct marketing by electronic communication without an appropriate lawful basis, and you may opt out of any such communications at any time.

If you believe your personal information has been processed in a manner that is not compliant with POPIA, please contact us first at axario.app@gmail.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
